Our members work hard to improve their decision making and strive to help others to make better decisions. We are encouraging members to stop focusing on the short-term goals and to consider long-term objectives. The foundation is a source of data science and artificial intelligence, knowledge and expertise; a communications and publishing platform for data scientists, a source of information for the public and a resource for organisations wanting to make better use of their data.

CityLabs, Manchester

Citylabs is the only development of its kind in the UK, based on a joint venture partnership between Manchester Science Partnerships (MSP) – the UK’s leading science and technology park operator, and Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) – the UK’s largest NHS provider Trust.  Citylabs brings together and accelerates collaboration between the NHS, scientific and academic communities and industry on the largest clinical academic campus in Europe and in the heart of Manchester’s Innovation District – the Oxford Road Corridor.  Citylabs provides opportunities for health and medical technology businesses to grow and co-create new health products in collaboration with the NHS and academia, and is strategically aligned with the NHS’ ‘Innovation, Health and Wealth’ agenda.

Centre for Decision Research, University of Leeds

The Centre for Decision Research brings together researchers from across the University of Leeds, who have an interest in human decision making. Founded in March 1996, the Centre for Decision Research has a strong multi-disciplinary focus that has led to research collaborations across a wide range of academic disciplines. Members of the Centre carry out a broad range of decision research, much of it funded externally.  It is concerned with how people make judgments and take decisions, particularly in situations involving risk and uncertainty. The research has provided important insights into how and why people do what they do, why they make mistakes that can lead to poor outcomes for themselves and their organisations, and how we can use this knowledge to help them do it better. Theories and findings from decision research have been applied extensively in such areas as political science, finance, marketing, health, medicine, management and the law.

Data and Text Mining Lab, Manchester Metropolitan University

Manchester Metropolitan University (often referred to as Manchester Met, MMU, or Man Met) is a new, public university located in Manchester, England. The university evolved from the Manchester Mechanics Institute and the Manchester Schools of Design and Commerce, becoming Manchester Polytechnic in 1970. It gained university status in 1992 under the Further and Higher Education Act. The university headquarters and central campus are in the city of Manchester, with additional facilities in Cheshire. Manchester Metropolitan University receives approximately 52,000 applications every year, making it the second most applied-to university in the UK after the University of Manchester.

The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences

AS-267467711025158@1440780679744_lThe Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Islamabad is the constituent Hospital of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University. PIMS is country’s premier Post Graduate Medical Centre since 1988. It is one of the regions leading tertiary level hospitals which includes 22 medical and surgical specialist centers. The institute includes three semi-autonomous hospitals including the Islamabad Hospital (IH) which is a 592-bed hospital, the 230 Bedded Children’s Hospital specializing in pediatric care and the 125 bedded Maternal & Child Health Care Centrel which specializes in obstetrics and gynaecology.

 

Higher Education Commission, Pakistan

The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan is an independent, autonomous, and constitutionally established institution of primary funding, overseeing, regulating, and accrediting the higher education efforts in Pakistan. It operates directly under the Prime Minister and is not subservient to the Ministry of Education. Under a new and revised reforms, the HEC is made responsible for formulating higher education policy and quality assurance to meet the international standards as well as providing accrediting academic degrees, development of new institutions, and uplift of existing institutions in Pakistan. The HEC also facilitated the development of higher educational system in the country with main purpose of upgrading the universities and colleges in the country to be focal point of the high learning of education, research, and development.
